Web-based Configuration Utility
If you wish to change the default settings or optimize the performance of the DAP-1150, you may use the configuration utility that D-Link has included a configuration utility for this purpose.
After you have completed the initial installation, you can access the configuration menu, at any time, by opening the web-browser and typing in the device name of the DAP-1150.
The DAP-1150’s default device name is shown below:
1. Open the web browser
2. Type in the device name of the DAP-1150.(dlinkap)or (192.168.0.50)
3. Type admin in the User Name field
4. Leave the Password blank
5. Click OK.

Step 1 Connect the D-Link Access Point directly to the PC via an Ethernet cable. One end to LAN port of the Access Point and the other end to the Ethernet port of you PC.

Step 2 Set you PC to Static IP. This can be done under Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties.
-Right-click on the Local Area Connection which represents your network card and select Properties.
-Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
-Click Use the following IP address and enter an IP address that is on the same subnet as the LAN IP address on your D-Link Access
IP Address: 192.168.0.51, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
You don’t have to key in any Default gateway or DNS server address.
-Click OK twice. You may be asked if you want to reboot your computer. Click Yes.

Step 3 Open the web browser Type in the IP address of the DAP-1150.(192.168.0.50).
Step 4 Type admin in the User Name field Leave the Password blank Click OK
Step 5 After logging in the Setup > Wizard page will be displayed:Click Launch Setup Wizard.
Step 6 Click Next to continue
Step 7 Create a new password and then click Next to continue.
Step 8 Enter your wireless network name (SSID). Auto Channel Scan is enabled by default. Uncheck the option to select a channel. Click Next to continue.
Step 9 Select the type of wireless security you want to use:
• Best - WPA2 Authentication
• Better - WPA Authentication
• Good - WEP Encryption
• None - No Security
Click Next to continue.
Step 10 Click Save.
Step 11 After you have done the above, please disconnect the D-Link Access Point from your PC and connect to the main router.
Step 12 Please put your PC back to automatically obtain IP address.This can be done under Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties.
-Right-click on the Local Area Connection which represents your network card and select Properties.
-Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
-Click Obtain an IP address Automatically and click on Obtain DNS server address automatically.
-Click OK twice. You may be asked if you want to reboot your computer. Click Yes.

Step 5 Click on the Home tab and then click on Wireless to the left.

Step 6 Select “AP Repeater” on Mode.

Step 7 Click on the Scan button to Scan for the SSID of your access point.
Please make sure that the SSID and Channel is Same from you D-Link AP. (If you have set wireless security such as WEP in the AP, you also need to set the same WEP on the Access Point)
Please key in the MAC Address of the Main AP to the “Root AP MAC Address”

Step 8 Click on Apply then click Continue to save the settings.

Step 9 Click on the Home tab and then click on LAN to the left
Change the IP Address of the D-Link Access Point so that it will be in the same subnet as you main Router (example: 192.168.1.51) and subnet mask (example:255.255.255.0) accordingly. Default Gateway has to be your main router’s IP address.

Step 10 Click on Apply then click Continue to save the settings.
